Sunshine
What I love most about living in Colorado is the sunshine, hands down! It’s common knowledge that Colorado gets roughly 300 days of sunny days per year. That’s 82% of a full year! When I lived in Indiana, there were so many gloomy days with overcast clouds and it really affected my overall mood. I like to say that Colorado gets the best of both worlds; we get California sunshine with four balanced seasons! You can actually get sunburnt while skiing in the middle of winter if your skin is exposed for too long.
Balance
Another great aspect of living in Colorado is the balance between urban and recreational activities (no, not those!). Even if you don’t live in Denver, many people around the state make their way to the city for shows, concerts, dining, sports events, etc. Although it doesn’t compare to New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, Denver has quite a lot to offer! Throughout the period of COVID lockdowns and policies, living in Colorado has been a blessing. With restaurants and bars operating at limited capacity and events cancelled or rescheduled, there are endless outdoor activities to occupy oneself.
